UTD signs on 18,000^TH Member 

Scott Ferrell, a Chemistry and Marine Biology teacher at Miami Coral Park Senior High became UTD’s 18,000^th member, marking a landmark goal for our union.  The announcement was made during a staff meeting at Coral Park, taking Ferrell totally by surprise.  A first-time teacher, Ferrell began at Coral Park in September 2006 as a temporary teacher and hopes he can stay on at the school.  He comes with a Master in microbiology and immunology and told UTD President Karen Aronowitz, “When I read your editorial, (Miami Herald, Jan. 27, 2007: "Good salaries retain good teachers"), I knew I had done the right thing."
