Certificate Holder Sanctions on DOE Website

The Department of Education has created a public web site to disclose disciplinary actions issued by the Education Practices Commission against both administrator and teacher certificate holders.  The web site contains only information which is a matter of public record.

Please be advised that:

1.    District level complaints and investigations are NOT included on the web site.

2.    Professional Practices Investigations which are  "dismissed" or for which "no probable cause" or "no action" is found are NOT included on the web site.

3.    All Professional Practices investigations will remain confidential by statute until the investigation is completed or until the investigation ceases to be active.

 4.    All Expunged/Sealed Criminal Records that are disclosed to the Department of Education will remain confidential and will not be posted on the web site.

 5.    Only those complaints for which a FINAL ORDER is issued will be included on the web site (this is a public record and has always been distributed to all school districts).

6.    FINAL ORDERS include those cases that were fully adjudicated before the Division of Administrative Hearings and those cases that were resolved by Settlement Agreement.

 7.   Only FINAL ORDERS issued since January 7, 2007 will be posted on the web site.

Certainly, if you or your members have any questions in this regard, please don't hesitate to contact FEA Legal Services.

Any UTD member with questions please contact your organizer or the UTD office at 305-854-0220.
